As a friend of mine once said, “You'll need coffee shops and sunsets and road trips. Airplanes and passports and new songs and old songs, but people more than anything else. You will need other people and you will need to be that other person to someone else, a living breathing screaming invitation to believe better things”. B x

It's a tough season healthwise but I've started painting and drawing again, so in that respect it's good. I don't have TV crushes as such being asexual, but I do rewatch things I find comforting and there are actors I find comforting too,, at the moment I'm watching Heartstopper but Schitt's Creek is another big comfort show of mine. I can't cope with these high intensity edge of your seat kind of shows because it's too much emotionally. I struggle with separating the fiction and the reality just with how my mind works. Lucifer (with Tom Ellis who is one of my most favourite actors) is one I rewatch a lot too. And White Collar I really like as well because it's set in NYC and the friendship that builds between Peter and Neal has some funny lines I think. Also I really want to live in Neal's apartment/loft haha!

Thanks for sharing Sebastian. I’m sorry it’s a tough season healthwise, but glad to hear you’ve reconnected with painting and drawing. I’m glad you have some shows that bring you comfort, and I think we can all relate to wanting to live in a New York apartment we see on TV, while usually also wondering how the character can afford it. 😊

Hey Sebastian. I've seen you post a couple times now in the comments about health struggles. I've been lucky to have basically my whole life without having to worry about any health thing...but I've recently run into my first major health struggle and I'm feeling confused. I'm curious if you have any advice about handling the scary or painful things. And also curious about how you find motivation to do things you love or like get past the mental block of like not thinking about the health thing all the time. Anyways, sorry for maybe a personal question and no pressure to answer. Just if you have any thoughts, I'm definitely looking to get advice from any people who have been/are on a health related journey before. Thanks ^^

Hey, firstly I'm sorry that you're going through a tough time with your health. Even though I've had struggles before, each new health struggle can bring new layers of anxiety and confusion.

I have several chronic illnesses and am awaiting assessment for some scary things too, and one of the most overwhelming things in the beginning was dealing with all of the different emotions that can come up. I found it easier to open up to my mam about my physical health issues because she understands them more than my mental health stuff. But one thing I would say is to make sure you have some one or some people who can give you space to talk when you need to, whether it's friends or family or a therapist. I also journal at times to try to empty my mind.

I take everything one day at a time and depending how I feel when I wake up depends on what I do that day. I've had to learn and understand my limitations and let them be the guide for when to take a rest when to eat , when to push through etc.

On the days when I'm really struggling healthwise I will just watch TV, and try to remind myself that it's OK to rest if my body is telling me to rest.

I hope some of this helped a little but if you have any more question, I'm here!

Hugs!❤️

I have definitely had to stop watching shows i loved because my anxiety gets so bad. My niece got me into Pretty Little Liars when I was visiting home in January/February and I enjoyed it, but I started having really bad nightmares and anxiety. I had to officially stop after watching two seasons and I still have nightmares sometimes. My favorite show, though, was Criminal Minds. I had to stop watching when I first moved to California almost 9 years ago, partly because I was living alone for the first time, but I was never able to go back. I sincerely hope I can finish the series some day because the psychology of it absolutely fascinates me.

Thanks for sharing Kelly. I’m sorry you had to step away from those shows you enjoyed, but also it sounds like you’re good at prioritizing your peace. I hope you’re able to find some new favorite shows that don’t make you anxious. You definitely deserve that.

I can definitely relate. I couldn’t watch TV for a very long time after my son passed away. Everything seemed to have a trigger.

When I finally did begin watching TV again I made sure to choose shows that were light hearted and funny rather than my usual fare. (I also loved shows like Criminal Minds). Eventually I was able to get back to my norm, but it was definitely a process.

Also, I usually prefer non-fiction books but did find that reading more fiction during that time was helpful as well.

Funny that you mention Invasion season 2 and television crushes, because I'm watching season 2 of Invasion only because one of my celebrity crushes joined the show. 😂 It's the guy who plays Clark Evans, and I'm a big fan of the actor, but my all-time TV crush is his character in the Marvel universe from Agent Carter and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.! 😄

Just finished season 2 of “with love.” (Not sure I watched season 1?) this has been a crazy year, a lot of rewatching shows. I can’t believe where I am now, never would have imagined it.

I might be a bad person because I watch precisely zero romantic comedies these days. And I’m rooting for you in this season, even as it looks different than what you pictured. (Life is worth living even now) 😊

Nothing wrong with that, not everyone likes romantic comedies. I probably watch too many. My life has changed so much since last year, but for the better. No podcast yet, but new branch at work.

I love a good soundtrack for a show and I need a new show so thank you. I also appreciate when people take the time to explain why they like it instead of just being like yeah you should check it out. Also coincidentally I am seeing the 1975 live for the first time also, a friend introduced me to them earlier this year and it’s and I’m so excited for the concert.
