BOOM. THIS. The gift has always been there Jamie. Grateful you’re giving yourself to settle back into it.

I've spent years not writing and feeling a lot of the same things. Thanks for putting words to it, and for choosing to get back at it! We are all better for it my friend. Looking forward to following along. :)

Jamie, I can totally relate to not writing due to not living a good story. I went in a mission trip called the world race in 2018-2019. 11 months, each in a different country. It changed me. How I see the world. Who I am. I wrote a lot during that trip. We had mandatory blog posts, but only once a week. I started writing and it just flowed. I sometimes wrote 3-5 a week and shared them. Since getting back, I have wanted to write, but haven’t really had words. But perhaps it is because I’m not living a good story, and there simply isn’t much I feel excited to write about. Thanks for always being helpful, someone who uses his words and stories and life to encourage and connect with other people. Even, and especially, in the hard seasons. It’s great to see you writing again. To read the stories and feel my own desire to start writing again. With it being spring, it just all feels really in sync with the season. New things coming after a long winter.

One of the first times I met you was at a Donald Miller's Storyline gathering in Nashville. I have encouraged INUMERABLE friends and young adults to read "A Million Miles in a Thousand Years." The whole premise that we can and should tell better stories with our lives still resounds deep within me.

All to say, taking a "million years" to write that out feels apropos. It gives me great joy to hear you say you like your story more these days. Connection and Home are such worthy things to want and fight for. I'm excited to cheer you on.

Worth the million hours spent. What a thoughtful reflection on what has led you back to your writing and the meaningful, creative endeavors you have in your life now. The Four Sundays group sure are lucky to have such connection. As mentioned by others in the comments, I feel like we are collectively coming back to our voices. I just signed up for a writing and yoga retreat called the Storyteller Within and am eager to see what emerges. In sharing our stories, we get to carry each other, as Bono might say.

So grateful to know you and so grateful to be a part of your Sundays. You’re amazing. I don’t think I could ever put into words how much the one-off groups have done for me in the few months you’ve been doing them. You’re doing really, really good things, Jamie. I’m beyond thrilled you’re writing again. Thank you for being you.

I think you’ve put into words what a lot of us struggle with; transitional moments and how to meet them with grace. I really enjoy being able to come and read your thoughts and finding resonance within them. Connection is a gift and a practice. Thank you for sharing and in doing so, inspiring me to be more open to connections and transitions.

I am actually just beginning to truly write. I have called myself a writer for some fifty years but never wrote! I am in college for the first time at age 55 and realize I have a lot to write about. According to my professors, I am good! It is so good to reconnect with you, Jamie. We have never met in person but I have followed your story since 2006. TWLOHA helped me through the suicide of my grandmother and father. A heartfelt Thank You.
